About Idaho Released Inmates

Finding a person released in Idaho starts with knowing which authority held them and which record survives the custody change. A county sheriff, the Idaho Department of Correction, a federal agency, or an immigration authority may control the next reliable record. This privately operated reference site brings those statewide paths together and routes readers to the official source or the correct county.

Why This Resource Exists

Idaho has no single list of every person released from every form of custody. County sheriffs create local booking and release records. The Idaho Department of Correction, or IDOC, maintains the Resident/Client Search for people in prison, on felony probation or parole, and many people whose sentences have been satisfied. Federal releases belong in the Bureau of Prisons locator, while an immigration custody change may appear through ICE. The purpose of this site is to make those boundaries clear and point to the source most likely to hold the record.

Statewide navigation matters in Idaho. Some rural counties use holding facilities or receiving jails in another county, and a roster disappearance may mean a transfer rather than community release. The county and facility directories preserve those distinctions instead of treating all jail exits as the same event.

What Readers Can Find

The material is organized around official custody and release channels.

  • The home page explains the full statewide search path and what a county or IDOC release record can show.
  • The County Directory opens a dedicated released-inmates resource for each of Idaho's counties.
  • The Facility Directory links to researched county jails, state prisons, reentry centers, juvenile facilities, and tribal custodians.
  • The IDOC offender search, parole pages, release-date material, and Idaho VINE coverage explain the main statewide systems.

Independent and Limited

Idaho Released Inmates is privately run. It is not connected with IDOC, the Commission of Pardons & Parole, any Idaho sheriff or court, VINELink, BOP, ICE, or another public agency. It cannot release or transfer a person, post bond, arrange a visit, send funds, change a record, confirm present custody, or give legal advice.

Only the agency that created a record can certify its current contents or correct an official custody entry.
