Idaho Records Contacts

This is a private reference site, not a government office. It cannot confirm custody or release, free anyone, post bond, or retrieve an official record.

Choose the Record Holder

Idaho release questions must go to the agency that created the record. A sheriff controls its jail record, IDOC controls state custody and sentence material, the Commission keeps its hearing actions, and the filing court keeps its case documents. Use the source that matches the person's actual custody path.

  • For county booking or release records, choose the responsible sheriff through the County Directory.
  • For a released or discharged state prisoner, start with the IDOC offender search and use IDOC's records portal when a formal record is needed.
  • For parole hearing minutes or actions, contact the Commission of Pardons & Parole through its public-information process.
  • For case documents, contact the clerk in the county where the case was filed. iCourt supplies general case context, not the full file.
  • For federal or immigration custody, use the BOP or ICE contact path tied to that system.

IDOC State Records

The IDOC JustFOIA portal accepts requests for identifiable state custody, sentence, release-to-supervision, or discharge material subject to lawful disclosure. The department's central contact is:

Idaho Department of Correction
1299 N. Orchard Street, Suite 110
Boise, Idaho 83706
208-658-2000

Provide the full name, IDOC number if known, sentencing county, case number, and a narrow description of the record. Do not send more personal data than the request requires.

Commission and Court Records

The Commission of Pardons & Parole publishes schedules and Notices of Action and handles public-information requests for its own records. A tentative parole date is not the physical-release record. For a judgment, probation order, or filed case document, use iCourt for general information and then contact the filing clerk for the actual file.

Website Corrections

A correction request should identify the page, quote the exact statement at issue, provide an authoritative source URL, and include the date the source was checked. Do not submit notification PINs, account credentials, medical details, or other sensitive material. Requests about an official record must still go to its public custodian.
